Friendly: Arsenal Legends 5 – 3 Real Madrid Legends [5 Things We Learnt]

Arsenal legends have defeated Real Madrid legends in a penalty shoot-outthriller at the Emirates in London.

Here are five things we learnt from the 0-0 draw:-

1: Lehmann Still On Point:- Peter Cech has started the new season too well and Gunners fans were delighted to see Jens Lehmann show him how it’s done.

The German goalkeeper was not messing around at half-time either, saving three penalties from ‘Save the Children’ foundation.

This proved good practise when he saved from Alfonso Perez in the penalty shootout.

2.Boa Morte Not A Legend:- Luis boa Morte managed to get a place in Arsenal legends starting line-up despite only playing 25 matches for the Gunners.

The former attacking midfielder made a much bigger impact in London when playing for Fulham and was capped 28 times by his country Portugal.

3. Mike Dean Restores Some Rep:-  Mike Dean had been barely a fan favorite over the years after being accused in 2012 of ‘celebrating’ Louis Saha’s goal in the North London derby v Spurs.

The referee also publically admitted that he made a mistake in awarding West Brom a penalty against the Gunners in their New Year’s Eve clash at the Hawthorns in 2017.

4.Rosicky Snubbed:- Tomas Rosicky was denied the chance to win the match from the penalty spot with the last spot kick but goalkeeper Jens Lehmann came up and scored.

5.WinterBurn The Warrior:- Winterburn put in a great performance and played his part in helping Arsenal secure victory.

He made 440 appearances for the club between 1987 and 2000.
